Day 1
   
1. Timeline: glue number, picture, and nameplate in appropriate place
   
2. Writing:
       
a. name of President and years in office
       
b. years that span his life (birth year - death year)
       
c. name and abbreviation of place of birth and death
3. Coloring pages: Copy and color pages of President
and First Lady
   
4. Read The Look-It-Up Book of Presidents
   
5. Sing Presidential song
Day 2
   
1. Timeline: place star sticker under number to designate political party
   
2. Writing:
       
a. Map: color new states added during President's term(s)
       
b. Abbreviations of the new states that joined the Union
       
c. Choose a quote from Wit & Wisdom to copy.
   
3. Read Don't Know Much About Presidents
   
4. Citizen Savvy - ask question, discuss answer
   
5. Read appropriate library book (opt.)
   
6. Sing Presidential song
Day 3
   
1. Timeline: glue on facts
   
2. Writing: choose one fact to remember
about the President and one to remember
   about the First Lady

Day 4 - optional
   
1. Cooking! Taste the Presidential experience as you prepare suggested recipes
       
from Presidential Cookies. This is a most enjoyable activity! Don't forget to
       
read the cookie facts and stories! It can also be scheduled on Day 1-3.

3. Read appropriate library book (opt.).
While this schedule worked well for us, it also allows a lot of flexibility as
you tailor it to the needs of your family. Each week may vary depending on
the availability of library books.

Build a Presidential Notebook Keepsake!
For an organized yet simple approach for compiling
color pages and composition, each student can build their own notebook!
Simply using a 70 page spiral notebook or three ring binder, a colorful
keepsake can be built as each president is added.
What a fun way
to remember this special study!
a. Copy the color pages of the President and his first lady.
Color as desired.
b. Cut out figures and glue them side-by-side on the left hand
page of a two
page
spread of your notebook.
c. Use the right hand page for your daily writing.
What happens after the 2008 Presidential election?
There is room on the timeline to add three more
Presidents. You can use the Internet to download the new President
picture (Use Google - images). Relevant information will need to
be gathered as it becomes available.
